We are involved in a number of activities and programmes to support young people through employment, education and sport, some of which include:

Henry Brothers are a member of the Construction and Business Services Leadership Group with the Prince’s Trust as part of the Trust’s Get into Construction programme.

The programme is a four week work experience programme aimed at young people aged 18 to 25. The programme trains them in various aspects of the construction industry. Those who complete the programme gain a Construction Skills Register (CSR) card which is the minimum requirement to work on construction sites. They also receive six months support from a Princes Trust advisor at the start of their apprenticeship, employment or training.

Apprenticeships: We work closely with our local further education colleges and other training providers in the provision of a wide range of built environment apprenticeship programmes. These modern day programmes were established to address identified skills shortages within the industry, as well as improving the candidate’s customer service and key skills.

Employment Preparation: We participate in Mock Interview Days at various schools; where the objective is to increase student awareness in relation to completing job applications and helping students develop skills to cope with a formal interview scenario.

Career conventions: We participate in Careers and Higher Education Conventions hosted by various schools or learning partnerships; where the objective is to develop awareness of the various career opportunities within the construction industry and specifically within our Company.

Sport: Henry Brothers have a recently signed a three year sponsorship deal with Moyola Park Football club Youth teams.

“The promotion of sport amongst young people in our community is vital to their development both physically and mentally.” Ian Henry
