Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an extremely positive business approach which encourages organisations – just like ours - to recognise the environmental implications of their economic activities and to ultimately become more socially aware & responsible.
Our Corporate Responsibility Team is headed up by CR Director – Ian Henry.
The Company has a long history of commitment to a broad range of CR activities, however as this area of our business grewit became increasingly apparent that it required direction and commitment at Board level. Therefore the decision was taken to appoint Ian Henry as CR Director.
Fully supported by a dedicated CR Team, Ian reports to the Board of Directors in line with the Company CR Strategy – SENSE; as well as agreeing and delivering Annual CR Objectives and Targets.
CR Strategy – SENSE
We take great pride in our achievements in helping to create economic, social and environmental sustainability, whether it’s an award for recognition of excellence, the sharing of CR best practice or leading the way for others in our industry and wider business community by constantly raising the bar and introducing new innovative ideas.
Protection of the natural environments in which we work is an integral part of our business model. Henry Brothers strive to continually improve upon our environmental performance and to minimise environmental impacts, by reviewing our environmental policy, setting measurable objectives and internal auditing to our certified standards.
Henry Brothers are part of Business & Biodiversity Charter, in partnership with Business in the Community.
Education partnering is a key element of our CR Strategy and community engagement. Our activities portfolio includes for example, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Work Experience, Placements, Donations, Sponsorship, Mentoring, Interview Skills Days, Careers events, etc.
Employee engagement has and continues to be a huge driving force in our business.
CORE – The Standard for Responsible Business
We were amongst the first companies in Northern Ireland to achieve CORE – Business In The Community Standard for Responsible Business.
CORE provides a framework for identifying corporate responsibility activity and measuring performance across the organisation. It is based on the BITC Corporate Responsibility Model which addresses issues under the themes of People, Planet, and Place alongside three essential requirements that all businesses must consider: Marketplace Responsibility, Stakeholder Engagement and Responsible Leadership.
Those that are successful in achieving this Standard are recognised as leaders in corporate responsibility practice.
