PROJECT OVERVIEW:

A new 10,000m² four-storey secondary school and sixth form college which comprised of general and specialist teaching spaces, ICT suites, nine STEM laboratories, a lecture theatre, a learning resource centre, and a performing arts and community sports centre.

Delivered in a live operational environment, the campus accommodated circa 1,200 students per day and 150 staff. The new community centre and school project includes state-of-the-art classrooms for teaching academic and vocational subjects; high quality IT infrastructure and ICT suites; event spaces for performing arts, drama and music; a sixth form centre with private study area, tutorial rooms and library; dedicated learning area for children with special educational needs; 1,000 student capacity kitchen, dining and catering facilities; staff office accommodation and specialised separate sports and leisure facilities enabling community use.

External works included 81,000m² of sports pitches, tennis/netball courts, social student areas, bespoke habitat area, landscaping, staff and community car and cycle parking facilities. The works also included the reconfiguration of the school entrance and junction with the main road, with the provision of a pedestrian crossing.
