Nottingham Trent University, Health and
Allied Professions Centre

Specialist training facility that serves as a learning base for Health and Allied Professions

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Design and build of the University’s new Institute of Health and Allied Professions Centre, which offers a range of specialist courses such as Adult and Mental Health Nursing, Paramedic Science, and Public Health.

The cutting-edge new facility enables the recreation of a ward setting or a home environment to enable students to practice and apply the skills they are learning in a safe way and in a realistic context, as well as creating scenarios for students that may be rare in a real-world situation.

One floor is dedicated to simulated healthcare environments including hospital wards, consultation, and counselling rooms, with the two additional floors providing office and flexible teaching spaces, including lecture theatres.

Situated at the heart of the busy University Clifton campus, the construction consists of a structural steel frame, pre-cast concrete floors and stairs, SFS, an external envelope of stone panels, cladding and aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors, and a large louvered roof top plant enclosure.
