The Soldiers’ Centre at Alexander Barracks

Construction and delivery of The Soldiers’ Centre at Alexander Barracks – an £11 million state-of-the-art wellbeing facility at Army Training Centre Pirbright.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Designed to address critical needs by modernising the site and integrating services to improve the recruit experience, the project took place over two years, completing in August 2024 and officially opening at a ceremony held on 31st January 2025.

Army Training Centre Pirbright delivers the 13-week training course which is completed by all Standard Entry recruits when they join the Army. The project provided a modern, integrated hub to support recruit welfare and training excellence.

With a proven track record of successful projects for the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Henry Brothers’ expertise in managing complex builds ensured that the project adhered to strict timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Delivered in partnership with the MOD, CPMG Architects, and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, the project successfully consolidates critical recruit services – retail, wellbeing, and support – into a single, high-performance building designed to optimise functionality, improve user experience, and lead by example in sustainable design.
