PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The design and build of the new Tactical Firefighting Learning and Development Centre, providing a much-improved learning environment and enabling firefighters to train in ‘real fire’ facilities.
The first of its kind in Northern Ireland, the six-storey Fire Training structure has over 30 compartments providing realistic operational scenarios using real fires and includes a control room to monitor all operations; lift shaft for shaft rescue training; replica scenarios – cable/service collapse and roof truss breach training; dry riser for high-rise firefighting, search, and rescue training; internal and external ladder training and rescue training, including anchor and tie-off points for abseiling.
Support facilities included general office space, mess room, training lab, classrooms, changing/welfare facilities, and storage areas.
