PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Design and build of a new Crash, Fire and Rescue Station to provide a facility capable of delivering current and future levels of Fire Response and Crash Category cover required at the RAF Lossiemouth base.

Delivered to BIM Level 2 and DREAM “Excellent” (equivalent to BREEAM), the steel-framed two-storey facility houses a control room; office accommodation and administration areas; an interview room; training and teaching accommodation for 30+ personnel; welfare facilities including a 9-bed Duty Crew dormitory, gym, kitchenette, changing and locker rooms with shower facilities, drying rooms, and ablutions; a plant room; storage rooms; Communications and Information Systems infrastructure; plus double-height garaging facilities including 4no. drive-through vehicle bays, a store room and servicing workshop.

Civil and external works included the provision of a parking area for fire service vehicles; hardstanding for vehicle bay access; staff and visitor carparking; bicycle shelters; hard and soft landscaping; a standalone wall to protect the building from vibration and aircraft efflux; a bunded external training and interceptor area; utilities infrastructure; services connections; demolition works; and removal of contaminated land.
